Catherine Tarr

"Hello, I’m Catherine. I am a mother to two 'almost' adults, I live in Guildford in the Surrey Hills and run my business, Essential Harmony. I am originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, where I was born and lived most of my young life.  

 

I work as a Sound Healer and Reiki practitioner, and use holistic modalities, including essential oils and crystals, to benefit all aspects of my work and my personal life. As well as being a Sound Healing Instructor for Sound Healing School UK, I enjoy working in a variety of locations, including Soulspace and The Boathouse Guildford, offering 1-1 treatments, group soundbaths, and bespoke packages for individuals and corporate clients.

 

My holistic career began when I was introduced to Reiki in my late twenties after I was told I would not be able to fall pregnant naturally.  After starting Reiki treatments, the information, healing, and tangible results had me hooked immediately, and I fell pregnant with my firstborn. Life was a bit of a blur for a few years, and then it was time to try for my secondborn.  On this occasion, I used acupuncture to overcome my problems conceiving. Again, I was in awe of the results and became a true believer in the power of energy to heal.  

 

As a result of my incredible personal experiences, I trained as a Reiki practitioner in 2021. I began as a volunteer at the Fountain Centre at The Royal Surrey Hospital, where a fantastic group of people work with the cancer patients, offering alternative healing to complement medications and aid with anxiety, pain, and fear.

A happy invitation to be a friend's client for her final sound healing assessment with Becky at Sound Healing School UK brought me into the world of sound healing, and I never looked back. In 2024, I obtained my IPHM-accredited Sound Healing Diploma with Sound Healing School UK. Since achieving my diploma, I have assisted with Becky's sound healing courses in Surrey.

 

I now offer Sound Healing School UK's IPHM-accredited syllabus in Oxfordshire & Gloucestershire."
